AyuBha Journal is a monthly, peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to the publication of high-quality academic, clinical, literary, pharmaceutical, preventive, and interdisciplinary research in Ayurveda and allied health sciences.

The journal welcomes original, ethical, well-structured, and scientifically meaningful manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of Ayurveda, traditional knowledge systems, integrative health care, evidence-based practice, clinical documentation, public health, and health education.

AyuBha Journal follows a structured editorial and peer-review process. Authors are expected to submit manuscripts that are original, unpublished, properly referenced, ethically compliant, and prepared according to the journal format.


Scope of the Journal

AyuBha Journal accepts scholarly contributions in areas including, but not limited to:

  • Ayurveda fundamentals and classical textual studies
  • Clinical Ayurveda and evidence-based practice
  • Dravya Guna, Rasa Shastra, Bhaishajya Kalpana, Panchakarma, Swasthavritta, Kayachikitsa, Shalya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra, Prasuti Tantra, Stri Roga, Kaumarabhritya, Agada Tantra, Rog Nidana, Kriya Sharir, Rachana Sharir, Samhita and Siddhanta
  • Ayurvedic pharmacy, formulation development, standardization, and quality control
  • Preventive, promotive, and public health approaches
  • Integrative medicine and translational research
  • Yoga, dietetics, lifestyle medicine, and wellness sciences
  • Case reports, case series, clinical reviews, and evidence-based perspectives
  • Literary research, conceptual studies, and critical reviews
  • Medical education, health communication, and academic innovation

Article Types Accepted

Authors may submit manuscripts under the following article types:

  1. Original Research Article
    Research based on clinical, experimental, literary, survey-based, pharmaceutical, pharmacological, or observational methodology.
  2. Review Article
    A structured review of existing literature with critical analysis, synthesis, and academic interpretation.
  3. Case Report
    A detailed clinical report of an individual case with diagnostic, therapeutic, follow-up, and discussion components.
  4. Case Series
    A structured presentation of multiple related clinical cases.
  5. Short Communication
    A concise report of preliminary findings, practical observations, academic notes, or emerging concepts.
  6. Editorial / Perspective
    Scholarly opinion or expert commentary on relevant academic, clinical, or policy-related issues.
  7. Letter to Editor
    Brief academic communication related to a published article, journal policy, or relevant scholarly issue.

General Submission Requirements

Before submitting a manuscript, authors must ensure that:

  • The manuscript has not been previously published.
  • The manuscript is not under consideration by another journal.
  • All authors have contributed meaningfully to the work.
  • All author details are correct and final at the time of submission.
  • The manuscript contains a clear title, author details, abstract, keywords, main text, references, and declarations.
  • The abstract is complete, meaningful, and visible as a summary of the work.
  • References are accurate, complete, and cited in the text.
  • Ethical approval, informed consent, and clinical trial registration details are provided wherever applicable.
  • Funding support and conflict of interest are clearly declared.
  • The manuscript file is submitted in .doc, .docx, or .pdf format as permitted by the submission system.

Manuscript Structure

Authors should prepare manuscripts in the following order:

1. Title Page

The title page should include:

  • Full title of the manuscript
  • Article type
  • Full names of all authors
  • Department and institutional affiliation of each author
  • Email address of the corresponding author
  • ORCID ID or professional profile link, if available
  • Complete correspondence details

The title should be concise, specific, and informative. Avoid unnecessary abbreviations in the title.


2. Abstract

Every manuscript must include a clear author-written abstract.

For Original Research Articles, the abstract should preferably be structured under:

  • Background
  • Objectives
  • Materials and Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusion

For Review Articles, Case Reports, and Conceptual Articles, an unstructured abstract may be accepted, but it should clearly summarize the purpose, method, key observations, and conclusion.

Recommended abstract length:

  • Original Research Article: 200–300 words
  • Review Article: 200–300 words
  • Case Report: 150–250 words
  • Short Communication: 100–200 words

The abstract should be complete and understandable without reading the full manuscript.


3. Keywords

Provide 3 to 8 keywords.

Keywords should be specific and relevant to the manuscript. Use standard scientific, clinical, and subject-specific terms wherever possible.

Example:

Keywords: Ayurveda, Panchakarma, Virechana, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Clinical Study


Recommended Manuscript Format by Article Type

Original Research Article

Original research manuscripts should generally include:

  1. Introduction
  2. Aim and Objectives
  3. Materials and Methods
  4. Results
  5. Discussion
  6. Conclusion
  7. Limitations of the Study
  8. Future Scope
  9. Declarations
  10. References

The methodology should be described clearly enough for academic evaluation and reproducibility.


Review Article

Review articles should include:

  1. Introduction
  2. Need / Rationale of the Review
  3. Materials and Methods / Search Strategy
  4. Review of Literature
  5. Critical Discussion
  6. Conclusion
  7. References

Authors should avoid simple compilation. The review must include analysis, comparison, interpretation, and academic contribution.


Case Report

Case reports should include:

  1. Introduction
  2. Patient Information
  3. Clinical Findings
  4. Diagnostic Assessment
  5. Therapeutic Intervention
  6. Follow-up and Outcomes
  7. Discussion
  8. Patient Consent Statement
  9. Conclusion
  10. References

Clinical photographs, investigation reports, and treatment timelines may be included where relevant, provided patient identity is protected.


Case Series

Case series should include:

  1. Introduction
  2. Case Presentation
  3. Common Diagnostic Criteria
  4. Intervention / Treatment Protocol
  5. Outcome Measures
  6. Results / Observations
  7. Discussion
  8. Conclusion
  9. References

Literary / Conceptual Research Article

Literary and conceptual manuscripts should include:

  1. Introduction
  2. Aim and Objectives
  3. Source Materials
  4. Method of Analysis
  5. Conceptual Review
  6. Discussion
  7. Contemporary Relevance
  8. Conclusion
  9. References

Classical references should be cited accurately with text name, section, chapter, and verse number wherever applicable.


Formatting Guidelines

Authors should follow these formatting instructions:

  • Use a clear and readable font such as Times New Roman, Arial, or similar.
  • Font size: 12 point for main text.
  • Line spacing: 1.5 is preferred.
  • Use clear headings and subheadings.
  • Use standard academic language.
  • Avoid unnecessary decorative formatting.
  • Use italics for Sanskrit/Ayurvedic terms where appropriate.
  • Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively.
  • Table titles should be placed above the table.
  • Figure titles/legends should be placed below the figure.
  • Abbreviations should be expanded at first use.
  • Avoid excessive self-citation or irrelevant references.

Language Policy

Manuscripts should preferably be written in clear academic English.

Sanskrit terms, Ayurvedic terminology, and classical references may be used wherever required. Such terms should be written consistently throughout the manuscript. Authors should provide suitable explanation or translation where necessary for wider academic understanding.

For better international readability, the title, abstract, keywords, author details, affiliations, and references should be presented clearly in English.


References and Citation Style

References are an essential part of scholarly publication and indexing-readiness.

Authors should ensure that:

  • Every reference cited in the text appears in the reference list.
  • Every reference in the reference list is cited in the text.
  • References are complete and accurate.
  • Journal article references include author name, article title, journal name, year, volume, issue, and page numbers where available.
  • Online references include access date wherever applicable.
  • Classical Ayurvedic references include text name, section/sthana, chapter, verse number, editor/translator, publisher, edition, year, and page number where available.

The journal may follow a numbered citation style unless otherwise specified by the editorial office.

Example format for journal article:

Author(s). Title of article. Journal Name. Year;Volume(Issue):Page numbers.

Example format for book:

Author/Editor. Title of Book. Edition. Place of publication: Publisher; Year. Page number.

Example format for classical text:

Name of Samhita/Text, Sthana, Chapter, Verse number, with editor/commentator details, publisher, edition, year, page number.

The reference section should be clearly titled References.


Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be relevant, necessary, and properly cited in the text.

Authors should follow these instructions:

  • Submit only clear and readable tables/figures.
  • Avoid duplication of data in both table and text.
  • Use high-quality images where required.
  • Mention the source if a table, image, or figure is adapted from another work.
  • Obtain permission where copyrighted material is used.
  • Patient identity must not be visible in clinical images unless written consent has been obtained.

Ethical Requirements

Authors must follow ethical standards in research and publication.

Where applicable, the manuscript should include:

  • Institutional Ethics Committee approval number
  • Date of approval
  • Name of approving institution
  • Informed consent statement
  • Clinical trial registration number
  • Animal ethics approval details
  • Permission for use of copyrighted material
  • Patient confidentiality declaration

For case reports and clinical images, written informed consent from the patient or guardian is required.

The journal may reject or withdraw manuscripts involving ethical violations, plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, image manipulation, or undisclosed conflicts of interest.


Authorship Policy

Authorship should be limited to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, data collection, analysis, interpretation, drafting, or critical revision of the manuscript.

All listed authors must:

  • Approve the final version of the manuscript.
  • Agree to its submission to AyuBha Journal.
  • Take responsibility for the integrity of the work.
  • Disclose conflicts of interest and funding support.

Guest authorship, gift authorship, honorary authorship, and ghost authorship are not acceptable.

The corresponding author is responsible for communication with the journal and must ensure that all co-authors have approved the submission.


Funding Statement

Authors must clearly declare whether the study received funding.

If funded, provide:

  • Name of funding agency
  • Grant number, if applicable
  • Role of the funding agency in study design, data collection, analysis, interpretation, or publication

If there was no funding, mention:

Funding: The authors received no financial support for the research, authorship, and/or publication of this article.


Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, academic, or professional conflict that may influence the manuscript.

If there is no conflict of interest, mention:

Conflict of Interest: The authors declare no conflict of interest.


Plagiarism and Originality

All submitted manuscripts must be original.

The journal may screen manuscripts for plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate text recycling, AI-generated unverifiable content, image manipulation, and unethical publication practices.

Manuscripts with unacceptable similarity, copied content, fabricated data, or improper citation may be rejected at any stage.


Use of Artificial Intelligence Tools

Authors must disclose the use of AI-assisted tools if such tools were used for language improvement, formatting, data analysis support, image generation, or manuscript preparation.

AI tools must not be listed as authors.

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, references, ethical compliance, and scholarly integrity of the submitted manuscript.

Any AI-generated content must be verified by the authors before submission.


Peer Review Process

AyuBha Journal follows an editorial screening and peer-review process.

The usual workflow is:

  1. Manuscript submission by author
  2. Initial editorial screening
  3. Technical and formatting check
  4. Peer-review fee verification, if applicable
  5. Assignment to reviewer(s)
  6. Reviewer comments and recommendation
  7. Editorial decision
  8. Revision by author, if required
  9. Final acceptance or rejection
  10. Copyediting, formatting, and publication

The editorial decision may be one of the following:

  • Accepted
  • Minor revision required
  • Major revision required
  • Rejected
  • Resubmission advised as a new manuscript

The final decision rests with the editorial board.


Revision Policy

If revision is requested, authors should submit:

  • Revised manuscript
  • Point-wise response to reviewer/editor comments
  • Highlighted changes, wherever possible

Authors should respond respectfully, clearly, and scientifically to every reviewer comment.

Failure to submit revision within the given time may lead to withdrawal or closure of the submission.


Publication and Indexing Readiness

AyuBha Journal presents published articles in a structured scholarly format to support academic discoverability and indexing-readiness.

Authors must ensure that the submitted manuscript contains:

  • Clear article title
  • Correct author names
  • Complete abstract
  • Relevant keywords
  • Proper article type
  • Accurate references
  • Funding statement
  • Conflict of interest statement
  • Ethical approval details, where applicable
  • Corresponding author details

After acceptance and publication, each article is assigned a dedicated article page and downloadable PDF generated through the journal system.


Article Processing / Peer-Review Fee

If a peer-review fee, article processing fee, or publication support fee is applicable, authors must follow the payment instructions shown on the submission page.

Payment of a fee does not guarantee acceptance. The review fee is non-refundable.

Editorial and peer-review decisions are based on academic quality, originality, ethical compliance, relevance, and reviewer/editor recommendations.


Withdrawal Policy

Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript by writing to the editorial office with a valid reason. Please note, the peer review fee will not be refunded even if the manuscript is withdrawn.

Withdrawal after peer-review, acceptance, or publication processing may be subject to editorial approval and journal policy.

Published articles cannot be withdrawn except in cases involving serious ethical, legal, or scientific concerns.


Correction, Retraction, and Editorial Action

AyuBha Journal may publish corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or editorial notices when required.

Such actions may be taken in cases involving:

  • Major error in published content
  • Ethical violation
  • Plagiarism
  • Duplicate publication
  • Data fabrication or falsification
  • Authorship dispute
  • Legal or patient confidentiality issue

Author Submission Checklist

Before submitting, authors should confirm:

  • The manuscript is original and unpublished.
  • The title is clear and specific.
  • All authors and affiliations are correct.
  • The corresponding author is clearly identified.
  • Abstract and keywords are included.
  • Article type is correctly selected.
  • References are complete and accurate.
  • Tables and figures are properly numbered.
  • Ethical approval details are provided, if applicable.
  • Patient consent is provided, if applicable.
  • Funding statement is included.
  • Conflict of interest statement is included.
  • The manuscript file is ready for upload.
  • The author has read and agreed to the journal’s submission and publication policies.
